Troy Baseball FAQ

Q.  What does it cost to play?

A.

Fees: Shetland (4-6): $75; Pinto (7-8): $130; Mustang (9-10): $150; Bronco (11-12): $170; Pony (13-14): $190

Additionally, there is a $150 fundraiser fee & $150 family fee PER FAMILY ($300) to be collected at the time of spring registration.

The $150 fundraiser fee is in the form of raffle tickets that you sell to earn this money back. The raffle is held at the Opening Ceremonies and there are various cash and prizes that can be won.

What is the Family fee? Despite the large number of parents we have in the league we have a hard time filling the many volunteer positions that are required for the league to function. If you are interested in filling an open position or helping in any way-please let a board member know. We'd love to have you! Your family fee will be refunded to you at the END of the season if you have completed 10 hours of volunteer time. Be sure to get a SIGNED work voucher for each time that you help out. Not everything counts towards earning back your family fee. If you have any questions please contact us at Troy Baseball.

Does the same family member have to do all of the work to earn back the family fee? No, it can be a combination of any adult in the family - just make sure the signed voucher states the players whole name.

Q.  What programs do we offer?

A.

We offer an In House program for boys and girls from 4-14 and a Travel program for boys and girls 8-15.

·      In House Leagues play other teams in our program. Our Shetland and Pinto divisions play solely at our facilities. Our Mustang, Bronco and Pony divisions play other teams in our program and surrounding programs at our facilities as well as surrounding cities facilities. (ie Crest Hill, Minooka, Channahon, Romeoville, etc.)

·      Travel Leagues play half of their games at Troy Baseball facilities & travel to play other teams from associations in our area

Q.  When will I receive my raffle tickets?

A.

The plan is that raffle tickets will be handed out to the oldest registered player in the family by coaches at your first practice. If you don't receive them, please make sure that your coach gets them for you.

Raffle tickets need to be sold and the stubs returned to the league at Opening Day Ceremonies. Any questions please contact your coach or a board member.

Q.  When will we hear what team we are on?

A.  After player evaluations are held (Feb 25th) coaches will draft players within the following week. Coaches will then contact their players no later than March 15th and make arrangements for practice times and locations as soon as the weather breaks.

Q.  Does Coaching/Assistant Coaching satisfy my family fee hours?

A.  We appreciate parents who are able and willing to help teach baseball to the young people in our Organization. It is our hope that they decide to be a coach because they love the game and enjoy working with kids. Because of this, we don't award family fee hours for coaching.

Q.  When, where and how often will practices be held?

A.  Practice dates, times and locations are set by each individual volunteer coach. After teams are selected, parents will be contacted by the coach with additional information.
